The house was built by Mauléon’s architect of the day and is graced with a striking façade, spacious volumes and many charming details, such as a large entrance hall with wooden staircase and fireplace.|
The location is Licharre, the lower part of town, just off one of the main thoroughfares, and not far from the road into town from Saint Palais and the Basque coast. The house was divided in two in the 1960’s.
It faces a bar bistro that bustles at lunch time and looks over the abandoned railway station that forms one side of a large square with free parking. The nearby bus stop is served almost daily by coaches from Dax, Bayonne and Oloron-Sainte-Marie train stations, and also Tardets.
